Acceptance Policy

Membership is free at this time*, however, in order to join our directory, you must first meet the following criteria;

Must have been in business for at least 2 years.

Have no dropshipped gift baskets on your site. (fruit & cookies are acceptable)

Have a website that is primarily gift baskets.

Have a phone number listed on your site.

Provide us with good quality photos and all text copy for your detail page.

Are at least 40 miles from your closest competitor that we have listed.*

A reciprocal link on your home page is required.

Have a professional looking website, with simple navigation.

All memberships are on a first come first serve basis, however, certain retailers have been privately invited to join prior to public offerings.

Adhere to all Copyright Laws. (no stolen photos!)

IMPORTANT;

Listing in this directory is at the sole discretion of the owner of Giftbasketspot.com. Not all request will be approved. We will notify you in advance if you are approved, before you need to place the logo on your site. When you are notified of approval, you have 24 hours to place the logo, or we will not list your site.

*Exceptions will be made if you are referred/invited/accepted by an existing member.

*Membership fees will be applied after the directory is fully listed in all search engines, and will depend on the quality of incoming traffic, however, we expect the fees to be noticeably lower than any other directory on the web. Most likely in 2008.

We reserve the right to change this policy as needed, with or without notice.

Any violation of the policy above will void your membership, and you will be removed from the directory.

This is calculated from your physcal business location, not the cities you hand deliver to.

You must offer a full line of gift baskets, for all occasions, and they should be of the design quality found on this site. This site is intended to showcase the best of the best.

About Your Listing.....

Listings will be online within 72 hours once approved. We will notify you when, and if approved. See above.

Reciprocal Link--Once approved, the giftbasketspot.com logo MUST be placed on your home page before we start your listing. We will not contact you to ask that you do this. The logos can be found at the bottom of this page. The logo must also be linked to the home page of giftbasketspot.com, not your state page, or detail page. (more information is below)

You are responsible for providing all text copy for your listing, which you can email us using the form below. (most we will get from your website)

Photo updates will be 1 time per month, and 1 month prior to a Holiday.(holiday pages only) Any changes/updates will occur during this time. Critical information updates, such as a change of phone number/change of address, etc., will be updated within 24 hours. Photos are not meant to represent your current inventory, just a general idea of your style for the customer.

The everyday occasions, such as sports, get well, baby, thank you, spa, new home, etc. will not be updated monthly. If you need to change a photo, please email us.

Some occasion pages have specific criteria. For example, only home related items will be allowed in new Home.(no general gourmet) Only sports themed in sports, etc. State Regional Specialties must have at least 2 state specific items,(things made in your state)or a state themed container with regular items. You will be emailed the other requirements after your membership has been accepted.

Please make sure your photos are good quality. Good photos are critical for your success, and ours.

Your business website should be free from clutter, and well organized. Simple navigation. Most of your listing information will be taken from your website. If you remove a photo that is on your detail page at giftbasketspot.com, you wil need to let us know, as in most cases those are linked to your site. You will recieve an email notifying you if we see a red X on your detail page, however, we will not be checking this everyday.

Please also note, that there will only be 40-45 companies listed on the home page. This is going to depend on the speed in which the page is loading. We are optimizing as much as possible, to have as many as possible on the home page, however, when the page is full, all accepted members will be listed on their state page, their own detail page, and as many of the categories as they have acceptable baskets for. You may cancel your free listing at any time.

Linking is critical for the success of this directory. Since this is a free directory, all we ask is that you place the link within 24 hours of approval. (we will notify you if you are accepted) If we decide to build your listing before you have placed the logo/link, we will notify you by email. However, we will not list you in the categories, or build your detail page until this has been done. If the logo/link has not been placed within 2 days(24hours) of your approval, and acceptance, your listing will be removed, if placed.

The logo must be on your home page. Do not change the destination of the url. It should link to the home page of Gift Basket Spot.

If you do not hear from us, it means we have declined your offer to list. If you are not accepted, it is usually because of one the factors in our guidelines above.
